I know this isn’t something I normally do but right now it’s only 2% funded with just a week left. Click the image if you’re interested!
What is this? It’s Dancers of War, baby! Van Partible of Johnny Bravo has teamed up with Vince Clarke of Depeche Mode, Yazoo, and Erasure to make the art and music for this 3rd person action game. They’ve also got Weapons Specialist Scott Eaton of CoD and Medal of Honor as well as Choreographer Lisa Eaton who has helped directed some smooth dance moves for big name artists like Madonna and Maroon 5.
What kind of game is it? Dancers of War is going to be a 3rd person action game for PC. It’s going to involve dancing as a form of combat which is totally cool! Of course, this game isn’t fully fleshed out, but there might also be some rhythm-based combat, which can dole out some sick combos!
Why is the pledge goal so huge? I asked the same thing when I first saw this Kickstarter a few weeks ago. It seems I wasn’t the only one that questioned this though. Thankfully, Van kept us posted on why that is. In short, it was the most realistic amount the team could come up with that would pay for everyone’s efforts, supplies, and overall development of the game. I can’t stress enough how much of a disappointment it is when a project goes under because the creative team behind it failed to calculate how much it would cost them to maintain it or even develop it in the first place. Van doesn’t want that to happen, so that’s why the goal is so huge.
Why am signal boosting this? I admit, my nostalgia goggles are on a little tight here. I loved watching Johnny Bravo as a kid, and I still feel fondly of it to this very day. Seeing Van Partible try something new and dive into video games is just something to behold. The best part is that Jack Dancer, the protagonist of the game, will be voiced by the beloved Jeff Bennett (voice of Johnny Bravo). But wait wait wait wait wait WAIT!
Are you trying to tell me somethin’ here Van? Is Jack Dancer… doing what I think he’s doing? Is he doing the Monkey? He’s doing The Monkey. If that ain’t a fuckin’ homage to Johnny Bravo, then I don’t know what is.
Anyways, much like Maxwell Atoms of Billy & Mandy fame trying something new with his Dead Meat title (gruesome puppet webshow which was successfully funded on Kickstarter), I’d really love to see how this concept takes flight. Not just as a fan of Van Partible’s work, but as someone that appreciates cartoons and video games! And fresh, new ideas too!
I’m not asking you guys to empty your wallets, but it would be so awesome to see this get funded. It’s got a long ways to go, but I’m sure it’ll make it!

I’m really angry about a thing but I can’t communicate to resolve the issue without getting even angrier
The only solution is to stay at a stable manageable level of RAGE
Kind of a nice feeling when your seed ratio on a torrent is something greater than one like 3 or 4 like yaaaaaaayy I helped 4 people watch this anime
Daaaw drawthreads for 40k are the best.
Boss Galdon from SFA is sort of similar to the final bug monster from MIB I wonder if Rare took inspiration from the movie
I’m posting this gif almost entirely because of this mans untuck…
